As a leading force in the international pulp and paper market, the Navigator Company is Portugal’s third largest exporter. Founded in 1953, the company employs more than 3,000 people. It has a total annual production capacity of nearly 1.6 million tons of paper, which is sold to 130 countries worldwide. It is one of the leading European manufacturers of uncoated printing and writing paper, and bleached eucalyptus pulp.
Its production is based in 3 major industrial sites in Cacia, Figueira da Foz and Setúbal, where the facilities set international standards for the pulp and paper industry. Indeed, the company has a very strong sense of corporate and environmental responsibility.
In 2018, the company opened a new tissue plant in Cacia with a production line for reels and with the respective converting lines for paper napkins, toilet paper, kitchen roll and other products. This new unit is equipped with the latest technology and most advanced production processes to achieve the company’s goals in terms of quality, productivity and efficiency.
The company is aware that good lighting has an extremely positive impact on business performance, productivity and profitability. It made sense that the lighting in this new facility had to satisfy a number of important criteria; optimise costs and energy consumption while delivering an excellent quality of light.
They opted for the INDU BAY as it satisfied all the criteria. This high-bay luminaire delivers an excellent quality of light with minimal energy consumption. Thanks to a high colour rendering it ensures that the workers have the ability to see clearly and judge the accuracy of colours to carry out their work in complete safety and comfort.
In addition, this robust luminaire has an IP 66 rating, which ensures reliable protection against dust and moisture, enabling longer maintenance cycles by reducing the need for cleaning.
The luminaires are managed by a control system. The company can adapt the lighting levels according to the real needs at any time, optimising operational costs even more.
